join us for a wedding celebration
A PHILIPPINE JOURNAL by Leigh Grossman
We travelled to the Philippines for a visit from Jan 2nd to Jan 21st, 2008. We stayed around Metro Manila and visited other places like Angeles City in Pampanga, Tagaytay City in Cavite, and the beautiful Boracay Island in Aklan. This is a day-by-day account of our adventure.

I've deliberately omitted some names, used nicknames in places, and left out pictures of certain people, to avoid identifying prominent people too clearly. While the ransoming-rich-people fad has largely died down in the Philippines, I heard enough firsthand stories on the trip to feel an obligation to be a little discreet. Sorry if I've downplayed any of Ro's friends or relatives (who were remarkably kind and generous to me, and patient with my quirky questions) as a result. I hope to see some of you at the wedding, and I very much hope to make a return trip to the Philippines soon. -Leigh
